A.  The products have an odor which is virtually undetectable.

Q.   How long will the benefits of a service last?

A.  How long the benefits of a service lasts is dependent on several factors. These include but are not limited to, the amount and condition of grass and ornamentals, pest pressure in the area and the number of pest accessible openings in the structure. This is why every service is customized to meet the needs of the individual customer and their home environment.

Q.   What does the term “Green” mean?

A.  The term, “Green” is widely used and its definition varies depending on who is using or interpreting the term. What’s consistent is that all “Green” products or services work to reduce the impact on our environment. This includes recycling, using natural materials already in the environment, developing formulations to increase absorption so that there is less run-off, implementing IPM programs and hundreds of other criterion.

Q.   What is IPM and why is it important?

A.  The EPA defines Integrated Pest Management (IPM), as “an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management. IPM programs use current information on the life cycles of pests and their interaction with the environment. This information, in combination with available pest control methods, is used to manage pest damage with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment.”

A.  The IPM approach can be applied to both agricultural and non-agricultural settings, such as the home, garden, and workplace. IPM takes advantage of all appropriate pest management options including, but not limited to, the judicious use of pesticides. Nozzle Nolen employs IPM programs and believes that these practices are part and parcel with Green services.

A.  Not all insects are pests! It is important to remember that there are also beneficial animals and insects which are instrumental in maintaining a natural, ecological balance. After all, if it wasn’t for the frogs, lizards, snakes and spiders, humans probably couldn’t live on planet earth. Earthworms aerate the soil, ladybugs prey on aphids and other injurious insects. Bees pollinate our plants.

A.  It is only when insects invade our homes or threaten the health of our family or property that they become pests.
