How Treatment Products work
Treatment Products control pest organisms by physically, chemically or biologically interfering with their metabolism or normal behavior and/or by repelling methods. Mechanical control methods include: sticky straps, caulking, cutting trees and shrubs away from the structure, and sealing access points around utility lines and other openings leading into the house.
How Treatment Products reach target pests
The route that brings a treatment product in contact with the target pest include spraying, fumigating and baiting. Other treatments are contact applications. To be effective, these need to be absorbed through the external body surface or the exposed plant tissue.
Other treatments are systemic in action. Systemic treatments are absorbed by the host where they become effective; for example, treatments that are absorbed by foliage and systemically move throughout the plant where they control chewing or sucking insects. These treatments are environmentally friendly and only target the problem pest, not the entire bug population, which may have important ecological benefits to the plants.
The importance of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Nozzle Nolen uses a targeted approach to insect control by employing integrated pest management programs (IPM). IPM programs are effective and environmentally sensitive approaches to pest management that relies on a combination of common-sense practices. IPM programs use current information on the life cycles of pests and their interaction with the environment. This information, in combination with available pest control methods, is used to manage pest damage with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment.
Every treatment is customized to target only the problem pest and these pests are treated where they live, not where you live. This approach creates a safe environment for your home, your family, and your pets.
It is important to remember that there are also beneficial insects, which are instrumental in maintaining a natural, ecological balance. For example, if not for frogs, lizards, snakes and spiders, humans probably couldn’t live in Florida. Earthworms aerate the soil, ladybugs prey on aphids and other injurious insects. Bees pollinate our plants. It is only when insects invade our homes or threaten the health of our family or property that they become pests.
